School of Wise Innovation

The School of Wise Innovation is a nonprofit learning community dedicated to reimagining how we innovate, create, and live in harmony with the web of life.

The SWI believes innovation is more than a product or process—it is a cultural practice that shapes our future. By weaving wisdom traditions with cutting-edge design, science, and technology, we cultivate innovators who create with integrity, compassion, and ecological awareness.

Mission

To learn, practice, teach, and cultivate holistic innovation culture—a way of innovating that honors both human flourishing and planetary well-being.

Vision

A world where innovators, their processes, and their creations contribute to harmony, resilience, and regeneration across communities and ecosystems.

Activities

  • Programs & Retreats – immersive workshops, learning journeys, and experimental formats that nurture whole-person learning.

  • Nature-Based Rites of Passage – experiences designed for aspiring business and STEM students to reconnect with Earth and re-ground innovation in ecological wisdom.

  • Community of Practice – an intergenerational, interdisciplinary network that learns and builds together.

  • Open Culture & Transparency – our work is collectively organized, fiscally sponsored by HAPPI, Inc., and incubated at the Center for Humane Technology. We share open financials through Open Collective to model integrity and accountability.

Who

Founded in Berkeley, California, the School of Wise Innovation is guided by a collective of educators, entrepreneurs, artists, and visionaries committed to reshaping innovation for the next era. Our community includes leaders such as Andrew Dunn and Ryan Littman Quinn and a growing network of collaborators across disciplines and geographies. I am grateful to be amongst those collaborators.
